Case Study #1

Our client had two aging servers, a Primary Domain Controller and an Application Server that both needed replacement. The client wanted to consolidate into one server to address issues of space constraints and energy savings.

VBS supplied one Dell PowerEdge server and used VM Ware to create a virtual server environment. Two virtual servers were created on this physical server – one as the domain controller and another as the application server. The migration and rollout was done over a weekend to minimize interruption to the client.

The result was a smooth rollout with no interruption to the client’s business. We also resolved the client’s concerns regarding the space and energy savings. The client now has a streamlined, up-to-date and easy to use system.

Case Study #2

Our client had one aging server which was acting as the Primary Domain Controller and the Application Server. It needed replacement. The client wanted to go with multiple servers because he wanted to address the performance issues that they were having with one sever. The existing server had become inadequate in serving their needs as they grow in size and complexity.

VBS supplied the client with two Dell PowerEdge servers – one to be the Primary Domain Controller and perform the file and print sharing as well as Microsoft Exchange; the second was used to run their Specialty Applications and ERP Software. The migration and rollout was done over a weekend to minimize interruption to the client’s operations

The rollout was performed smoothly with no interruption to the client’s business. We also resolved the client’s concerns regarding the performance issues that they were having.

Case Study #3

Our client had close to 50 employees and noticed that a few employees were not being productive due to spending too much time on the internet browsing/using social websites. The client wanted to install a monitoring and prevention solution that controls where the employees go on the internet and what websites they can visit. The client also wanted to protect himself from possible litigation because employees were visiting questionable sites.

VBS supplied one Dell PowerEdge server to be used as an Application Server and Internet Gateway. The rollout was done over a weekend to minimize interruption to the client’s operations. Daily reports that were produced by the monitoring software were used to tweak and hone the list of websites to be blocked. We also resolved the client’s concerns regarding the productivity of his employees as well as eliminating the possibility of litigation due to employees visiting questionable web sites.
